10 puppies born (all reserved) 2.23.2021

Just hours after birth. Neve did and is doing a fantastic job!

We’ve had a couple long nights and a day around here but everyone seems to be settling in comfortably. Neve started having the puppies at 3:33 am Monday the 22nd. She didn’t finish until 12:30pm. In that time I had to what’s called “swing” the 2nd male who was grasping for breath and life. It was a scary few moments as we cleaned out his breathing passages and and rubbed him trying to help him live. Finally after what seemed like ages he started making squeaking noises which meant that he was a fighter and what we were doing was working! I then got him to latch on mama and he’s been just fine ever since. What a crazy experience of near death into life. I’m pretty sure that little guy will forever be my favorite. When you go through something like that with an animal or person it forever bonds you in a certain way.

Waiting…

It’s obvious that Neve is in the home stretch of her pregnancy. She. Is. Huge. Walking, sitting, scratching even laying down looks super uncomfortable for her. We have her inside with us most of the time right now only bringing her out for short times to get fresh air.

She really doesn’t want to move around much and my almost toddler has taken to hugging Neves paws and patting her nose which they mutually both enjoy. We are all excited and anticipating the arrival of new life and can’t wait to share when they arrive!
